some pics from a Thunderhill and Buttonwillow
trackday last year. Work has been keeping me busy. Still working on some
writeups that I received from Ken Hill. Sorry for the delay in posting them...

As
you may or may not have noticed, I have not done any racing this year (nor
trackdays, for that matter). Did I crash? Did I lose my job?
Nope. I am just taking it easy this year, focusing on work, and also trying
to get ready for a home purchase next year. Where I end up living is another
matter altogether. However, I do plan to be back on the track next year in
some way, shape, or form.
Meanwhile,
my arch-nemesis/racing buddy Simon
Williams is still out there getting it done in AFM and WSMC (I
just hope he doesn't get too much faster). He did have a bit of a mishap
at Willow Springs earlier in the season, but seems to be recovering very
nicely. My other nemesis....I mean, racing buddy John Wehrli is, like me, taking it easy this year.
I hope to get together again with these guys on the track in the near future.
We
all had a pretty decent 1st season of racing in 2003. John took the Overall CCS Amateur
Championship for the Pacific Region (as well as numerous other class championships).
Although plagued with more than his fair share of mechanical problems, Simon
took the Amateur SuperTwins Championship in both the Pacific and Southwest
regions, and was nipping at my heels all season in the GTO and GP classes.
I ended up with 3 class championships: Amateur Pacific GTO, Amateur Pacific
Unlimited GP, Amateur Southwest GTO, and a 2nd place in Amateur Pacific
Unlimited SuperSport class. I always like to mention the fact that I skipped
the 1st two race weekends in this class, which more than likely cost me the
championship (but, don't tell John that I said that ;-) ). With only one
semi-serious crash, I couldn't have asked for a better 1st season.
Another
thing that happened this year is that my main sponsor (Hayward Kawasaki Motorsports)
is no longer in business. Although, the demise of the shop had nothing to
do with my lack of racing this year. I sure am glad the shop didn't go away
last year, since that would have undoubtedly put a severe damper on my racing
efforts. Ken Hill and Hayward Kawasaki Motorsports were extremely instrumental
in my racing performance last year, and I will be indebted to him for quite
some time. He really helped me out in my first season of racing, and I have
no doubt that I wouldn't have achieved the results that I did without his
help. Thanks again Ken.
As
you can see, the site had been redesigned and cleaned up a bit. I still have
all of my race write-ups (which are now fully complete), videos, and pics.
Other than that, I have a few other videos laying around that I will edit,
render, and post ASAP. Happy safe riding and racing!
